Reagan's 18-month doctor's appointment

I went with Grandma Booze to take Reagan to her 18-month doctor's check-up appointment.  She was  a healthy girl!

Reagan weighs 23 pounds, 6 ounces, and is in the 63 percentile for her weight as an 18-month old baby.

Reagan height (body length) is 31.5 inches, and she measures in the 48 percentile.

The doctor recommended that we keep reading to her and feeding her vegetables!

Thankful for Grandma Booze!

Grandma Booze drove down to Knoxville, Tennessee, from Mequon, Wisconsin, and we are thankful that she made it safely!  She drove in the "Jonas" snowstorm that hit the Southeast and headed northeast over the Jan. 23-24 weekend.  Her normal 10-hour trip from Wisconsin to Tennessee turned into a 24-hour trip when she got stuck in the mountains of Mount Vernon, Kentucky where she was stopped in her car among other travelers on I-75 South for 14 hours straight!!!  She had a half tank of gas, and some Chex Mix to snack on, and she only drank a Diet Coke so did not need to use the bathroom.  She was first stuck in Mount Vernon, KY, at 3:30 PM and arrived at our house in Knoxville at 7:30 AM, so she finally started driving from KY to TN at around 5:00 AM.  What a trooper!

(Wow... I am a LOT paler in my current 35-week pictures with Baby 2 in Jan. 2016 than my 35-week pictures with Baby Reagan from June 2014.)

35 weeks with Baby #2

I am 35 weeks along with Baby #2 today.  Booze joined me to my 35-week check-up doctor's appointment this morning.
This was my last check-up appointment with my OBGYN before I start my weekly appointments at the hospital in downtown Knoxville where I will deliver Baby #2 in a month (!!!)

I weigh 139 pounds.  My blood pressure was 110/68.

The baby's heart rate was 134 beats per minute.  This was lower than the average 150 bpm from the last several appointments, and my doctor said that this was normal for the baby's heartbeat to go down as I get closer to 40 weeks.

Today, we also got to use the ultrasound machine to see pictures of Baby #2.  Since this pregnancy has been a lot smoother than my pregnancy with Reagan in terms of monitoring the baby's health and progress, I have not had many ultrasound appointments.  So, today was the first time since October, when my doctor could see that we were going to have a baby boy, that we saw the baby on the ultrasound machine.

The doctor could not get a good picture of the baby's face, but she said that it was a very healthy baby that was "long and lean" and measuring 35 weeks 6 days and 5 1/2 pounds.  Although, the doctor reminded us that the weeks and weight measurement can be +/- 3 weeks, so who knows how big this baby will be when it comes out of me.

My mom and I were just happy to hear that the baby was very healthy and strong.  It's hard to believe that David and I will have a family of four in a month (five including Hank dog)!

Snow days, Jan 2016

We received snow from the beginning of the big snow storm "Jonas" on Tuesday night, Jan. 19th.  Then, my school and David's golf course were both closed on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  The roads are very slick around here.  We could hardly get out of our own drive way and Reagan's day care closed early Wednesday because it was difficult to get in and out of the parking lot.  The Weather Channel keeps talking about the Jonas storm hitting the east coast hard this weekend.  Reagan's Grandma Booze drives down to Knoxville on Friday morning to help Mama Peaches out for the week because David is leaving for a PGA work trip Saturday, Jan. 23rd - Saturday, Jan. 30th to Orlando, Florida.  Safe travels, everyone!

34 weeks with Baby #2

I can't believe that I'm 34 weeks along with Baby # 2 already!

I don't know how much longer I can keep up with these weekly posts... time is passing fast, and I'm in the process of getting ready for my brief maternity leave.

The baby boy is either the size of a cantaloupe or a savoy cabbage, depending on which pregnancy phone app we look at.

He is about 18 inches and weighs 4-5 pounds.

My belly is feeling the stretch!  I don't know how much more it's able to stretch in 6 weeks, but the female body is pretty amazing in that way!

My back is hurting a lot lately, so I'm trying to stretch it out and ask my sweet husband for regular back massages!

My next appointment (36-week check-up) is in a week on Mon. Jan. 25th.

Reagan's 18-month milestones

It's Jan. 16, 2016, and Reagan will officially be 18 months on Jan. 28, 2016.

She has her 18-month doctor's check-up appointment next Tuesday, Jan. 26th.

Here are some of her latest tricks, accomplishments, and cute antics that she does as an 18-month old toddler:

Loves fruit snacks, string cheese, apples can say "Apple"!), to pick up sticks, acorns and rocks outside, grapes, blueberries, Froot Loops cereal (the version with the marshmallows), peas, corn, Mac n cheese, loves peanut butter sandwiches, ice cream, chocolate (she kept begging for a piece of the chocolate bars that we had left over from Christmas in our fridge, loves to brush her teeth with Mommy and Daddy in the morning..... Says "chaussures" and "manger" in French... Runs to picture in day Care room and points to our family picture, loves going outside, no matter how cold it is (she gets excited when I get her jacket and she wants to put it on right away), thank goodness for the park behind our backyard!!!, says UH OH, dog dog, APPLE, ma or MINE, mama, dada, says BUE BYE and blows a kiss, she still hushes Hank (puts finger to lips and says SHHH) when he barks, she pets and hugs Hank, still loves her chalkboard, drawing with a pen on blank notepads and her blocks, likes to dance with Daddy to music videos on TV, likes to read book with animals in them...

Size 4 diapers

Goes to bed at 8:30, wakes up at 7 on her own, one 2-hour nap at 12:00-2:00
