Last Photos as a Family of 3

Last Photos as a Family of 3 (Feb. 28. 2016)

These photos are taken the night before the 5:30 AM induction appointment for the arrival of Baby Boy Haase!!!!!!

Reagan reads her newest favorite book "Chicka Chicka ABC" with Grandma Booze.  They will spend a few evenings together while Mommy and Daddy stay at the hospital with her new baby brother.

Late February events before Baby Boy's arrival

Reagan's Grandma Susan (Booze) drove down from Wisconsin to Tennessee on Wednesday to help out before the baby boy arrives.  She had bad luck on her drive down to Knoxville last time when she got stuck in 14-hour standstill traffic in London, Kentucky (just 90 miles north of Knoxville), and that was 14 hours in addition to the normal 10-hour total drive from Milwaukee.  That was due to the heavy snow and a semi-truck accident that blocked the lanes.

This past Wednesday, she got stuck in 3-hour standstill traffic in Indiana (90 miles north of Lafayette), so she still had bad luck.  HOWEVER, Susan actually ended up having "good luck" because, by driving down on Wednesday and not Friday or later, she made it to Knoxville without having to take the 35-mile detour in Campbell County, which is just north of us in Knoxville.  There was a rockslide on I-75, so they have closed both northbound and southbound lanes of I-75 where one needs to drive through to get from Wisconsin to Knoxville.  Both N and S I-75 are closed for "several weeks" according to the news.

In the meantime, in this 39th week of pregnancy with Baby Boy Haase, here is what the rest of us have been up to outside of Mommy's belly!

39-week comparison pictures

 39-week comparison pictures....

Last time, when I was exactly 39 weeks pregnant with Reagan in late July 2014, she was induced on the first day of the 39th week (July 28th), because she was a high-risk pregnancy, and that's what my doctor suggested that we do.

So, I'm in new territory this year with Baby Boy as we pass the 39th week mark.  Pictures below are from Feb. 22nd, 2016 when I was measuring exactly 39 weeks, but I'm now 39 weeks and 6 days as I write this blog post... We go in for our 5:30 AM induction appointment tomorrow, so it looks like we'll have a Leap Year baby!

Here are pictures from July 2014, when David and I were doing last-minute cleaning and preparations with the bassinet in our old apartment before we left for our 12:00 AM induction appointment.

39-week doctor's appointment Baby 2

David and I went to our 39-week doctor's check-up appointment this afternoon.

I'm still pregnant, and the doctor was surprised that I still was when we showed up to our appointment today.

My blood pressure was 112/64 and the baby's heart beat per minute was 142 bpm.  I weighed 144 pounds (no shoes this time on the scale).

Both mom and baby were healthy.  It was an uneventful appointment, but a good appointment.  My goal is to work at least through Friday morning, so that my maternity leave is exactly how many days that I planned it out to be.  I'm okay with keeping the baby in my body until Friday, and then he came come out anytime this weekend.

Otherwise, we are scheduled for an induction at 5:30 AM on Monday, Feb. 29th if I do not go into labor naturally with the baby boy before then.

My belly feels extremely stretched, and I don't know how much more it can expand... I just imagine my belly as a giant balloon and if David took a pencil and touched my belly, it would pop and the baby would jump out.  I am almost ready for the baby to come but not quite... give us a few more days, and then we we'll be as ready as we'll ever be for the 2-3 hour periods of sleep, and constant craziness between caring for a newborn and chasing around an energetic 18-month toddler girl!

So, for right now, we plan to meet the baby boy a week from today on Mon. Feb. 29th, unless he decides to make a surprise early appearance!

Below, David and I picked up Reagan from Day Care early at 4:30 PM when our 39-week doctor's appointment was surprisingly short!  She became very excited when she saw Daddy walk through the door to the toddler room.  Lucky girl!  She got to leave school early for the afternoon!

We stopped at the Edwin Watts golf store so David could fix some clubs for a client.  We also played with the putters in the practice putting green in the store.

After, we went to Noodles for dinner with David's parents, Papa (Fred) and Nani (Nancy).  Reagan loved her butter noodles dinner and she ran around the restaurant and even showed off some dance moves after she became much happier with a full stomach!

It was still early in the evening, so we went to Target to show for some new pajamas and a bath mat for our guest bathroom.  We found a Minion hat among other fun things to play with at Target.

Finally, here are my 39-week "bump pics" before I took a shower to close out the day.  These may be the last bump pics of this second pregnancy, which is a little bittersweet for me.  While I feel uncomfortable in this last week, especially since I haven't been past this milestone 39-week point yet, because Reagan was induced at exactly 39 weeks in July 2014, I know that I will miss it and I'm not complaining about any of it.  This second pregnancy was a lot smoother than my pregnancy with Reagan, and Reagan turned out perfectly.  We are eager to see what this little boy is like!

I'm showing bare belly pictures below because I just can't believe how much it really does look like I have a basketball under my skin, so I wanted to share pictures to show this unbelievable image.
